Sexual Violence and Assault affects hundreds of thousands of people every year. Therefore, it is so important to acknowledge and to learn more about the issues that come with this topic.
Here are some facts.
90% of victims of sexual harassment are female;
55% of women have been sexually harassed in the EU;
45% have experienced the ‘most serious’ forms of sexual harassment;
32% of all victims in the EU said the perpetrator was a superior, colleague or customer;
75% of women in professions requiring qualifications or top management jobs have been sexually harassed;
61% of women employed in the service sector have been subjected to sexual harassment;
20% of young women (between the ages of 18 and 29) in the EU-28 have experienced cyber-harassment; one in ten women have been subjected to sexual harassment or stalking using new technology.
This month, Set The Tone project is devoted to bringing awareness to Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM) by recognizing the important conversations happening around sexual violence in particular at the workplace, encouraging unceasingly the reporting of sexual harassment cases and preventing it before it ever happens.
Every day and on this special occasion of #SexualAssaultAwarenessMonth, Set The Tone invites workers and enterprises to the joint fight against sexual harassment and gender-based violence at the workplace by promoting safety for the workers through specific project tools: online assessment, a charter of engagement and training for workers.
